correct vs incorrect url syntax and some quick solutions if your website does not appear

Hi class, I am giving you an example of a website I hosted on the hunter server and some things that could go wrong as a reference to help you understand your own urls and how they relate to your servers and file directories:

correct url : http://ima.hunter.cuny.edu/~shyera/sureyoucan/index.html

example of an incorrect url 😦

http://ima.hunter.cuny.edu/documents/Sure youcan/index.html

^ the above link is incorrect for three reasons

  1. the website is in my documents instead of on my server
  2. there is a capital letter in one of my file names
  3. there is a space between words in my file names
